Ed: Another brutal contest of Blood Bowl comes to a close. Bob, what was your take on today's action?
Bob: One word comes to mind after witnessing this game: devastation! The Thickskull Clan overpowered Rat Speed with plenty of stuns and injuries. It was very hard to watch and luckily nobody was killed in that meat grinder.
Ed: Very hard indeed, although we have to consider if the results would have been different if Vrcheck the Rat Ogre wasn't knocked out so early in the game for Rat Speed. What do you think Bob?
Bob: We would have seen a entirely different game as Vrcheck was the caretaker for Rat Speed. With their strongman in the game, Rat Speed had a great chance to hold up those ugly orcs while the speedsters worked their way into the endzone. One or two scores by Rat Speed would have sealed the deal but it was just not their day today.
Ed: True Bob, but holy cow is there some controversy to this game. As we heard at the post game news conference, Rat Speed will be retiring its team after the first match due to the crippling injuries received today. Was it really necessary for the orcs to block a team into complete submission?
Bob: The "Blood" in Blood Bowl isn't there because a player may scrape his elbow Ed. It's a rough game and the Orcs played just as they intended to. They were angry, dirty bastards on a mission to score just enough points to pull off a victory. In fact, my game ball today goes to the black orc Zugarod who came up with eleven blocks, just fantastic.
Ed: I know this game is violent Bob, I'm just saying maybe the orcs went a little too far today. It's hard to see a young team go like that before getting off the ground.
Bob: I wouldn't fret too much Ed. These players will find their way onto another skaven team, or might even form a new organization after some time has passed. Kudos to Rat Speed today for hanging in there to the very end. It was a heroic effort on their part.

Well it started out good for the Speed, but turned quickly when the formed a nice cage with the Rat Ogre on the outside keeping people away. The Clan was able to get enough guys around the Rat Ogre and knock him down and give him a concussion. He is now out and will miss the next game too.
We fought hard trying to wiggle a little hole open that I could run through but as I was making the only block I needed to get that room I didn’t get the roll and we both knocked our selves down….
The Orcs pushed their way in and Azmog, the ugly black orc picked up the ball and pushed as far as he could go.. but we came through and surrounded him and knocked the ball loose. We had a couple long shot chances to score but never could complete the pass to make it in the end zone.
The first half ended 0-0
They got the ball the second half and drove it right down Rat Speed’s throat. The Rat’s had their chances but kept tripping over there own feet and when they did not the ball loose, they had some many players gone or knocked down they couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity and pass the ball down field away from the big ugly’s.
With perseverance the Thickskull Clan scored and was able to hold on for two turns to secure the victory.

It saddens me to say that Rat Speed has decided to retire officially after it’s first match.
