It took the Augurs' coach a long to realize that the appropriate way to deal with Ogres was to target their own kind, the goblins. Sadly Spankly's DP was wasted stunning an Ogre only to get badly hurt early in the game. To think of all the goblin pixels he could have exploded!

Once this tactical error was corrected for, The Augurs had a ways to go to climb out of their hole. Dribblesnot had blown himself up in spectacular fashion on turn 1, Spankly was gone, and the cursed Brotherhood of Poorly-Named Ogres and Worse-Named Goblins scored on turn 8. Fortunately the fast eradication of Prey 1 through 6 with goblin fouls and troll blitzes had already begun. Much to the Augurs' glee, on turn 8 two or three goblins were put on the line of scrimmage to maul.

As a result, holsbrink spent most of the second half with one or no goblins on the pitch. This made TD number 1, nice and easy, but it was a little sad when there were no more to hurt. TD number two required a bit more Augur magic. A fine kick off into the Brotherhood of Poorly-Named Ogres and Worse-Named Goblins' end zone added to the suspense. A previously ko'ed goblin from the Brotherhood of Poorly-Named Ogres and Worse-Named Goblins moved to protect the ball, hoping for the tie. But the Augurs were not to be denied. After advancing half the team up the pitch. Dangles, having just sidestepped a blitzing ogre, was taken up in the caring hands of his troll pet and tossed across the pitch landing successfully with a reroll. Aware of the numbers behind him and his sidestepping skills, Dangles made for the remaining goblin with a 1-d blitz...pow/skull. What exquisite joy, Dangles ko'ed his enemy and fell softly on the muddy field. Next turn, he picked himself up and took the ball into the end zone: 2 to 1. Humiliated, the Brotherhood of Poorly-Named Ogres and Worse-Named Goblins did not try for a high risk toss of its one recovered goblin but tried again to take out the trolls. Fortune favors the bold! It was not to be.

To add joy to the occasion, the Brotherhood of Poorly-Named Ogres and Worse-Named Goblins jeered the luck of the Augurs' trolls. With a name like Urhgg Luckface and the stomachs of many chickens opened to divine and preempt fate, what did they expect? ...Doubles on his skill roll?
