“Gondolin XX - 145 Mini League Wroxall Rockers 145 1-0 DBR (Decayed Beyond Recognition)

The Rockers moral was high coming into this match after beating Toon World in their last match whilst DBR's form was rather mixed having drawn, lost and won their last 3 matches. Hoping for a second straight win Coach Bobafettsmum had told his players to try using the same tactics that had worked against Toon World, although this would be risky as the undead team had a little more pace than their Khemri counterparts.

The first half was a bit of a non event as the dwarves adopted their elven tactics of standing off and taunting the undead side. Whilst DBR were overly cautious in their attempt to move the ball downfield. It wasnt until the dying moments of the first half that DBR made any real effort to make for the endzone. Zombie, Skullrot laid the smackdown on dwarf runner, Forest Gump whilst trying to make an opening by distracting the Rockers other runner, Grimble Getahead. Unforunately for DBR Grimble Getahead kept his concentration and took down Ghoul, Pukestench as he tried to rush past towards the endzone. The halftime whistle went with the scores still 0-0.

The 2nd half began with the Rockers forming a cage around the ball and advancing into DBR's half of the field. With the Rockers causing 2 zombie casualties the pressure was mounting on DBR to stop the Rockers as they progresively moved up field. With the loss of Wight, Evilskull to the dugout the 8 remaining players were unable to stop the Rockers scoring as Forest Gump ran the ball into the endzone for his 2nd TD in 2 games.

With a quarter of the match to go there was still hope for DBR to get something out of the game. But the zonal marking of the Rockers proved too much for DBR and then with the death (if you can call it that for the undead) of Ghoul, Foulscum the game was over.
