“Melissa got the better of me in this match, which was a very good one. Calling brought 12 players only to the match as we had two mummies mng, facing a team at full strength.
We recieved and after some poor coaching by yours truly we fouled two mummies to death, one regenerated. The one that didn't regenerate was the top star of the team, a 150-ish spp monster. That might have given her a little scare as i proceeded to foul everything in my way, easily stalling it out for the halftime lead. Melissa's fouls, however, were all spotted by the ref and stuns. I felt good, really good. At that point i figured the match could go either way which was a big improvement from the role as sure underdog i had from the kickoff.
Second half, i am down to 9, Melissa to 10. Both have two mummies. She kills my LOS and strolls it in, a feeble 1d attempt not stopping her advancement. Nothing much happened in this half, i just got creamed really. More bad coaching decisions from Myself (spending my rerolls too fast) left me with 7 players, 1 reroll for the overtime, Melissa down to only 8 players but 4 rerolls. Both had two players in the KO box, both failed both rolls. Both. And one more time, Both.
At that point i knew that the reciever would win the match, simply because of the very very important los killing and first foul. Melissa recieved and i cursed nuffle through my teeth.
OT turned out to be an exciting affair despite me being vastly outnumbered. my two st6 mummies kept a good amount of players busy and i got several 2dblocks on the ballcarrier, all leading to pows, all leading to Kauliniai recovering easily in the following round. So the blocking huddle inched down the field towards my endzone and i was not able to stop the inevitable TD in turn 8. My last attempt, T7, required 2 gfi and a target 4 dodge for a 2d blitz but i failed it, having spent my rerolls on something silly in the second half.
Good game, was a pleasure playing it against a coach whom i know to be friendly and skilled.
Spectators boo'd and cheer'd at irregular intervals but deep down in my heart i know they were cheering for the underdog, they were cheering for Calling.
