The 2 handicaps were It Wasn't me, taking out the teams highest SPP Blitzer and Illegal Drugs, making one of the opposing mummies Str 6.
The orcs lost players early, whilst unable to break the armour of the skeletons, meaning Orcs were going off the field regularly.
The Orcs did break down the side of the field though and get clear, but a dodge and 1D block by the Khemri saw them splat the ball carrier before he could score.
Despite having 4 dice back, the Orcs could not down the ball carrier, who happily dodged away like an elf with the ball, despite further attempts to stop him.
The second half saw already lowering number of Orcs on the field fouled several times, each one seemingly ending in a casualty. Even when the Orcs were down to 5 players, the Khemri fouls continued.
Orc thrower moved himself to a safe distance, but the rest of the team continued to fight, although the remaining blitzer was destined to either fail his blocks, or the dodge for better position.
Not a great game for the orcs, and one I will forget quickly, but things will always be tough in a league like the PBI for a coach who never uses Dirty Players.”
“The Central Adepts came into the PBI and for their first game they faced the massive Orcs of Sauronakt. The Orcs received in the opening half and pushed downfield - however, the Adepts slowly were removing players from the field and Monty managed a 1d blitz to smack down the Orc ballcarrier before he could score - in the melee that followed neither team could hold onto the ball and the half ended 0-0. As a bonus, Anika enjoyed feasting on Nobbla - as the chainsaw proved ineffective this game.
Receiving with a tie score, the strategy for the Khermi was obvious - eliminate the other team...walk in for the win. Particular attention was paid to the troll...once he was removed, no TTM threat remained. Soon, the orcs had less than half a dozen players and most of them stayed on the ground or ran away. Obviously the ref was laughing at the cowardly orcs and did not blow the whistle as Drinking Bone fouled 6 straight turns in the second half.
Overall, it was a good game for the Adepts - but many more challenges await in the future!”
