The pre-game was a disaster for the Swampdivers as two of their skink runners were overcome with niggling injuries. Things got even worse in the first half as, after receiving the ball, some uncharacteristically aggressive blitzing from Drakenhöff pupils put all but two of the little guys in the casualty pit. However, not happy at seeing their team-mates given a beat down, the Swampdivers' Saurii scramble defense put up a staunch fight and kept the vamps at bay for the rest of the half.

The second half was always going to be tough for the LIzard team with only three skinks making it back on the pitch. But lack of numbers proved little obstacle for these reptilian menaces as they kept the ball away from the vamp team early on. They were ably assisted in doing this by some of the Drakenhöff staff who, seeing their pupils blood pumping after the aggressive first half slugfest, decided to take a quick mid-game energy drink. Eventually the Swampdivers' runners were closed down and smashed off the pitch again, and the match disintegrated into a mass rumble for the ball. The vamps looked like they might pull the win out of the bag at the end thanks to some impressive dodging under extreme pressure in the ruck, but a match-saving big hit at the end by a Saurus blocker saw Professor Drakenhöff have to leave the pitch to get his faculties in order for tomorrows teaching, and the ball could not be picked up for the pass to the man in space.

Ultimately, a bloody but unsatisfying 0-0 draw sent the fans home only moderately happy. There are certainly some scores to settle if these two teams meet again!

Take care until next time folks - g'night and nuffle bless.

(great game Urrghs, hope to see you again sometime soon dude! =0)
