“I was looking for a light score heavy game. What I got instead was a fairly brutal foulfest grinder that cost me a lineman and set me back at least another match.
In the first half, two quick fouls produced two injuries for him, one of which was a RIP I expended by apothocary on. Given that he was looking to foul at that point pretty much every turn, I conceded the score and ran like a little girl. He eventually corners two of my players and continually fouls the dragon warrior. Fortunately the three or four fouls end up having little effect, but unfortunately for me he manages to avoid ejection three or four times.
In the second half one of my early blocks results in a lucky RIP, which he electes to allow happen rather than apothocary. The remainder of the half was mostly me stalling to avoid another kick off. This task is made much easier by the fact that, in the second half, he is pretty unlucky with his block dice, twice falling down to skulls.
Because several of my players were on the edge of skills, I come out with three rolls (including, of course, an aging -1 MA), but at the loss of a lineman I consider it at best a wash, and potentially a setback. ”
