Well, with a last minute change of opposition due to "Whos LineOut is it anyway" having an unfortunate misunderstanding between the ever hungry Whaa the Troll and several slower members of his team, and so having to withdraw, the Coldridge Curators came to the match under prepared for a game against the new Dark Elf team "Flower Pot Lid Flippers". Given the lack of preparation, the dwarves resorted to their thumping game style, with good results later in the game where only half the elf team were left on the pitch for much of the second half. The match did suffer a near break of serve for the dwarves in the first half, but the game, with one TD per half, went with serve.

It must be noted that the dwarf front line is looking a bit hungry for blood, but the star for the dwarves was undoubtedly Khaelyn Steelwing, who had to run the complete length of the pitch carrying the ball; he did suffer a brief knockdown due to his inexperience at the speed of the elves, but was handed the ball once more by Hegnar Swiftaxe, given a pat on the back and told to "Run for tha line, laddie!", to score the equalizer, and salvage some dwarf pride. His thumping run has certainly strengthened his right hook, which should serve him well in future matches.

For the elves, Gribble is certainly looking as though his winter training practicing his throws has paid off, but Durka was their man of the match, which was certainly unusual given his cheering encouragement of any player who came near the dugout where he was being treated for concussion; still the crowd obviously liked his even handedness. Looking ahead, the elves must be concerned that Rolfe managed to pick up a niggling hand injury which will certainly make him miss his next match, and maybe more, as they travel to the relatively unknown Nurgle team that is Limpid Effluvia

The Coldridge Curators now have a rest week however, where they'll be mentally preparing to host one of their ancient racial enemies next - the Chaos Dwarves of Gamma Warped.
