I won the toss and chose to receive. An early turnover for my opponent allowed me to advance into scoring range pretty quickly, but my opponent was able to apply enough defensive pressure to force me to score immediately.
In the second quarter, my opponent made a backfield dash with a ball-carrying blitzer. I was able to stop him, but a foolish choice of knockdown destination caused the ball to bounce out of bounds. The fans threw the ball back in well behind my opponent's lines, but I was able to prevent a touchdown.
For the second half I was on defence again, and was nervous, but some more bad luck for my opponent (failed pickup from the corner of the pitch) allowed me to send in several blitzers. This *almost* worked, but my opponent was able to reclaim the ball and pass it out of harm's way, leaving all three of my AG3 blitzers stranded in the wrong half of the pitch. Another solo touchdown run was made. Larry made a (rerolled) dodge to run up and 2db the ball carrier on the sideline, but sadly failed the GFI roll for the block. A quick dodge later and scores were tied.
With only 2 turns left and no goblin, chances of a winning score were pretty low. A pitch invasion left a possible hole, but some terrible block dice for both teams wound up the match pretty quickly.”
