“The infuriating thing about vampires is that they don't have any skills, which means I am at the mercy of Nuffle to an even greater extent than normal. And, with his demonstrated hatred of me, it isn't hard to predict how that'll work out.
The real difference in this game, the one that makes it a 1-3 defeat rather than a 2-2 tie were horrid dice rolls. Grandico scores a blitz on the opening kick off and inflicts a serious injury with his first block. That pretty much set the tenor for the whole game. On my short drive, I fail a hand-off with re-roll, and he scoops it up to score.
The second half was characterized by the inability of my vampires to succeed at simple actions, combined with Grand's unbroken record of successful rolls. A series of blocks gives him an overwhelming numbers advantage (with 5 casualties and as many KO's it's hard to put up much of a fight), and he pretty much does whatever he wants.
For his part, Grandnico certainly made the most of the opportunities afforded him. His actions were well planned and executed, and while the dice were undeniably on his side, he handled his team with accomplished skill.”
