“Frustrating game for the stonemasons and definitely seen as a win let slip.
The stonemasons controlled the game well but the rats did what rats do - through bodies at things.
The first half saw the dorfs start a steady caged crawl downfield undone by a 2dice against pow block.... the ball falling nicely away from the cage next to a gutter runner who ran off to score. The dorfs equalied before the half then early in the second half the dorfs had the rats down to about 6 players on the pitch and could have stalled for the rest of the game but decided against it - on turn 3 scoring to go 2-1 up.
The rats equaliser was sneaky.... unable to protect the ball saw the ball knocked loose only to land in the hands of a surrounded linerat (7+ to catch.... a 6 did the trick) who then passed a long pass to a stormvermin to score.
The dorfs saw the game snatched away by some sneaky plays - but it wasnt all one sided - the rats did fail a re-rolled GFI to score early in the second half (the turnover that lead to the dorfs second TD).
Well played to Skritter who rarely had more than 7 players on the pitch and was outgunned re guard, block, tackle, MB etc. A well deserved point.
All in all the dorfs need to learn to play a little tighter - they still struggle against the sneaky fast dodgy teams.
And the next game should be no picnic. Wait a minute it is a picnic - Torturers Picnic! This next game might just decide the winner of the conference....
Conference Twahnlows:
3pt: #5 - move 9 rat with guard and block - always in the right place at teh right time and also scored the late equaliser.
2pt: #12 - didnt make many blocks but was always in the middle distracting my attention and pushing around his share of dorfs. Instrumental in the key play that saw a late turnover stopping the dorf win.
1pt: #1 scored early TD - couldnt catch the blighter”
