Morely's Revenge and sweltering heat meant that most of the Vixen players were out of action for one part of the match or another. In one drive eight Flings faced down a mere four Sauruses and at no stage were both Flings on the pitch.

The Halfling strategy of running past the Sauruses, and actually picking up the ball (never a Saurus's strong point), paid dividends. The Sauri were frustrated by some bad luck, particularly in blocking, and the result never looked that much in doubt.”
