#12 Maiden Evergreen – Smashed Knee (NI)
“"I cannot explain why our team played like last season Dragoons in the second half. No matter what we try it turns to bullshit. It seems to started after we receive our half time drinks from the short and hairy waitress. Maiden Evergreen started complaining that her nerves feel funny, but the Apoth said he could not found anything wrong. I m going to look at the tapes and next match we are going to bring our own half time drinks.”
The Chargers received the opening kick-off, only to be harassed at every turn by Altorë Ranger Breeze, who eventually lead the Defenders to a defensive score.
Down and seemingly out, the Chargers attempt to even things up at the half and almost pay by going down 0-2... although with a little bad luck by the Defenders, gives the Chargers one last chance to tie the game before the half ends... unfortunately they fail to produce.
During the half time break, Zendzabar tears into his troops and fires them up for the second half. The Chargers kick-off, but come out fast and strong, catching the Defenders off-guard. This leads to a quick defensive score by Zendmakar Malice, tying the game at 1-1.
On the following kick-off, the Chargers set up ingeniously, putting a heavy press on the Defenders. Unable to overcome their nervousness, the Defenders give up a second defensive touchdown and fall behind 2-1.
The Chargers now smell victory and do not let up at all. If not for a great play by Mírfi Fëamig, this game might have turned out a 3-1 loss for the Defenders. A well thrown ball, removed most of the chance for the Chargers to score yet again on defensive... it was too little, too late for the Defenders to tie it up though.
Notes: Good game in the first half and I thought I was going to lose this one. Although a total Nuffling of drbunny, in the second half, assured me the Victory. Until the play-offs drbunny, when we'll meet again.”
