“KNIGHTS TROT UP TWO

At the Marius Lietdorf Stadium the Averhiem Knights got a debut win against the Bushido Ogres, and, importantly they also won the toss.

Recieving the kick, the Knights went about their gameplan with gusto and a gang blitz on the Ogre right flank opened up a hole for Marcus Flint to pass into. Kingsley Amiss took his time scoring the routine TD, crunching the goblin, Yakhi, on the way.

Around the line of scrimmage the Ogre's suffered some unfortunate blunders that allowed the pack of humans to descend upon them. Up to five players were knocked out by the ruckus but no permanent injuries were caused in the foul lust.

But not before the Ogre, Terumoto, struck, taking out the path finder, Marcus Flint with a huge punch that pulped he human on the meaty fist of the Ogre. The Apothecary could make nothing of the soupy remains, Marcus had died 20 minutes into his promising debut. The crowd were pleased. Not wanting a similar fate Kingsley Amiss took his opportunity to score.

As play resumed the Ogre team gradually pulled itself off the bench and into the ball scramble on teh Knight's right. The clumsy clamour was ended swiftly by the half time whistle. By the second half both teams were equal in players once again.

The second half began with the sending off of Yoriie the goblin for an inconsequential foul on a knight lineman, perhaps in retribution for all the earlier fouling by the Knight's grunts.

The Knight's pounced to take the front foot in a blocking cluster. The tactic didn't proof hard hitting enough and Kingsley Amiss breakthrough was stopped dead in its tracks by the Ogre defence.

However a secong breakthrough opened up once again on the right flank and two lineman managed to put challenges in on the ball carrying goblins, who dodged blissfully clear, gigling with glee, only to mess up the hand off.

Elsewhere a gang of three fouled the killer Ogre Terumoto, putting him out of the game. The Ogre was in a lot of pain as he was carried from the field, and the bellows of anger and pain are said to have increased the manure at the near-by Cattle Market five fold. The smell will be remembered for many seasons to come.

The Ogre Sotaro gained immediate retribution by crushing Randy Griegs rib cage between both hands and tossing the man like a rag doll. He will walk again, but not for a while.

Amidst the chaos Felix Wychwood snapped up the loose ball and fed Linus Helmgart for the second TD of the match.

All that remained of teh game was spent in a blitz from teh powerful Ogre Kumanosuke from the kick off. getting the ball from a touchback he smashed his way through the human resistance. Blitzer Harley La Brute tried to kick the brute down only to have his leg ripped of from below the knee.

The Knights only kept a clean sheet by virtue of the final whistle.
