“A disappointing friendly seemed poised to ensure things could only get better, but as a Real Sociedead fan, daring upon such a mindset is only setting one up for further disappointment.
Real began without any great rush against ten, allegedly brittle, pro elves, hoping to reduce their numbers to a more manageable number given the threat of some very capable elf players.
Midway through the first half little had transpired in way of carnage and Real had made reasonable progress towards the endzone but were still expecting the agile, leaping, talents of FC Kislevhagen’s super blitzer to be a problem that they had no solution for.
Kislev however managed to get the Blitzer tied up, and a failed block against a Zombie that put him down, surrounded by Real players… a game winning moment was before their very eyes. Weakling, Chris Glutton, gave the Blitzer the boot failing to even stun the Elf whilst managing to get himself sent off.
At the endzone Real players began to try and prevent the elves from getting to the ball carrier, stalling all they could despite the agility of the elves and the ever present danger of their Blitzer.
All seemed well, until the Blitzer dodged in and out of zombies, leapt over the wall of defenders and with an equal matched fight, toppled the rookie ghoul… and stunning him to boot.
In the end it was left to a zombie to score, and his decaying hands were just not up to the task.
0 – 0
Two of the three ‘impressive’ KOs inflicted on Kislev remained in their makeshift beds, and only eight elves took to the field. Real began to pound on anything and everything, shielding the elves from their TD line. Kislev fell back with the ball handler and charged several forward, including their Blitzer, who seemed to be the only one capable of penetrating the Undead line.
Real put him down and ganged fouled him once – Stun!
Real advanced some of their men to threaten the ball carrier, and Juanito booted the Blitzer for a second time – Stun!
Kislev held back, and the Wights began their advance, Juanito booted the Blitzer for a third time – Nothing and sent off!
This Blitzer was impervious to everything… he shot up and ran toward the end zone, a failed completion due to the Sun left him without the ball, but it was in range. Karla blitzed him with the aid of a Mummy but couldn’t topple the unyielding Blitzer, in the end he strolled in for the score, much to Real’s dismay.
Real still had a chance to equalise against the few elves remaining… but five men toppled by a pitch invasion put pay to that… leaving them to make a successful completion that was intercepted.
A real… no, Real lacklustre performance to start the season, and next a visit to Houston who have only lost 6 times in 36 games – it seems grinding out draws against the big bashers just won’t cut it this season.

An utterly terrible game by my team. Outcassed, albeit just one, by Pro Elves. : /
I think the sum total of 40+ blocks and four fouls resulted in just the 3 or 4 KOs throughout the game… 4 fouls on the Blitzer couldn’t yield more than a stun, and in the end this AG5 monster proved to be our sole undoing, I just couldn’t shift him.
A mere 40K, -FF, and the sum total of an MVP made this a poor game indeed. If that’s what 10 av7 Elves can do, I can’t wait to play Azure… :(
