“So, okay. We're a Norse team. AV7 across the board -- even the Minotaur. Khemri teams are widely regarded as an excuse to hit people with mummies, and then foul them. In this case, we have a Khemri team with no less than three dirty players, and no more than zero throwers. Yes, this team is so focused on causing violence that they don't even have a thrower. (And the strategy appears to have worked -- their record is solidly above .500.)

You would expect this to be a game I would avoid. I didn't.

You would also expect that, when the Khemris got the ref on the opening kickoff of the second half, things would get ugly. They did. On turn 8 of the second half, when they ran in the ball for their only touchdown, we had one player on the field: War, AV6 and all. He was stunned at the time.

Fortunately, and/or miraculously, we got through the whole thing with no permanent damage and only one MNG. (Unfortunately, the latter was Bill Murray, so we'll have to play without him next time.)

And we managed to hang on for the win -- we scored in the first half, then again at the beginning of the second to take a 2-0 lead. Don't get me wrong, Maigret is a good team -- but given that they have 10 players with a total agility of 16, a two-TD lead in the second half seemed (and was) pretty safe.

Fittingly for the match, blitzer Mummies was the star -- he scored both our touchdowns. After the game, we picked up a new fourth blitzer to replace the retired Pestilence. The man's name is Death. That's either a good or a bad name -- we'll see.
