“An excellent game that could have gone either way if it were not for the fickleness of luck.
Shorter Than Tall had a very solid drive in the first half that was foiled only by the rare display of elf-like agility from the Plaguewood Warden's beastmen midway through the first half. They ducked away from the dwarves to concentrate on the ball carrier, leaving the dwarves to fight to get around the rotters. When the tables began to turn the dwarves could not get away from the Wardens. The dwarves would knock people down, only to see them stand back up or move more people into the way, allowing a last second score by the Wardens.
The second half was characterized by excellent blocks at key moments for the Wardens. The dwarves would set up a strong defense only to have a hole open up from a stunning blow or an injury. They would immediately close up the hole, but the hits kept coming. Eventually the Wardens managed to squeeze through to the end zone.
All in all, I had the luck (dodges, 1d blocks, and armor rolls) and ourbee didn't. Definitely one to replay in the future.
