“This was a tough one. The Pips took on the pesky Amaxon Valkyries with great hopes of glory. But it came very clear in the beginning, that this was going to be a very hard fought match.
A riot started the first half (seriously... I've experienced way too much of riots and pitch invasions lately). The Pips had to score quickly, but luck was not on their side again. The Amazons managed to block the Pips of and thus running down the clock. They also quite evilly fouled one the Pips' catchers to BH box in a relatively non-threat situation.
The Amazons started their first drive with great ferocity, they were quite succesfull in moving the ball, but at eventually they failed a critical pass which enabled the Pips' to storm the ball and deliver it to their lineman who got a free run for the endzone. The Valkyries had a theoretic chance of stopping the ball carrier, but instead they swarmed a helpless lineman and fouled him. Luckily he was only stunned and the player fouling was sent off.
At this point the Pips' apothecary had been busy healing a nearly killed player so things weren't looking up as the Amaxon Valkyries started their offense. Luck continued to evade the VSOP team and the Amazons easily ran the ball to the endzone as the elves stumbled and failed to block their foes. Halthar Vipfellow was injured in the process as he was nailed to the ground by an Amazon blitzer.
No more touchdowns were scored so 1-1 was the final score. Thanks for the game!
=============
After the match it became apparent, that my opponent thought, that SPPs were awarded for fouls. I corrected this misconception. It was a miracle of biblical proportions that I got away with a draw. Luck was almost completely on their side when it came to blocking. KO box was filled with my players in the beginning and the casses just kept on coming. ”
