Firstly, my norse-men really impressed me with their ball play and defensive struggle. In the strong shiny sun of the first part of the first half and the following pouring rain, the Skeggmen dodged around, threw the ball and put up two scores against the fellow vikigns of coach Haugaard's team. Even when the rain stopped and it was nice and cloudy again and "its a gonna" were handled the ball, my vikings played superb defense and mangaged to keep the norse from the other team out of the end zone.
On the other hand, it was the same problem as always with playing norse. Injuries, injuries and injuries. This game was as ugly and bloody as it could get with 22 half-naked players on the field. 1 kill on each side, a niggling injury and strength loss for Haugaard, while I got three players out for the next game, one of them my lovely snow troll Brrr, and a lineman out with niggling injury.
So even with the luck and finesse ball play my norse showed today, the struggle to break the norse code and find the motivation to coach this difficult team continues for myself, as it seems no matter how good your mates play, you are always - ALWAYS - struck down with a big heap of ugly injuries...
