“2 MNGs and a kill for the poor apothecary-less norse. Ouch.
The game opened with the Norse receiving and they ran a decent drive down the bottom side of the field. Eventually, however, enough of them got tangled up and the ballcarrier was exposed to a quick blitz resulting in not only a turnover, but a SI as well. Stubby got the CAS (along with an earlier MNG on a blitzer) and grabbed the ball to run it in for a TD on turn seven. 7 SPPs and his first skill in a single drive. Nice. The norse were out of time to try and score so the half ended 1-0. There was also a crowd push (stunned, thankfully) which meant that I was 4 men up on him for almost the entire first half. Needless to say, it was rough going for the Norse.
The second half opened with me receiving and quickly lead to the Thrower's kill. Doh. Gentlemaniac mounted a staunch defense despite being 4 or 5 men down (3 CAS and 2 KOs, I think) and almost turned the ball over. Fortunately the sure-handed Tiny didn't get the ball stripped and managed to get chain-pushed to freedom. That put the short ones up 2-0 around turn 5 or 6. The Norse received and eventually turned the ball over after getting pushed around due to numerical inferiority but Tiny was short (no pun intended) of the TD by a turn.
Gentlemaniac was a good coach and a lot of fun to play. He suffered immensely from those early casualties, though and a few excessively risky plays. Always remember to do your no-risk moves first! More than one turn opened with a block by a blitzer that would have (or did) put you into a 1 die blitz on the second block, which can be disastrous.
Thanks again for the game.
ps. the luck percentage is because we started chatting on turn 8 and actually forgot to finish the game! Had to reload to finish the last turn and he tried to mimic his previous actions and failed his first dodge. Hence the 0% (and my 50% because I never even made a roll!)”
