This was a sobering lesson for the Zulu tribe, who came into this match expecting it to be one from which they could get a result.

The Wood Elves were at their majestic best in in the first half, leaping, cartwheeling and backflipping through the Orcs' flailing tackles and scooping up the ball as if they were playing in their back gardens against infant siblings. There seemed to be nothing that Zulu! could do to make the ball safe, let alone move it into the opposition half. The usually solid Savage Orc line had not been set up to deal with an aerial threat, and when Hardzombie pounced on the stroke of half time to make the score 0-3, it looked all over.

However, the Zulu are nothing if not hardy warriors, and they had set about a methodical schedule of thumbing and stamping from the early minutes. The Orcs had left themselves with a glimmer of hope if they could bring their numerical advantage to bear (or increase it to unwieldy proportions).

Chaos raged along the right touchline as Fek Ta Tak and a resurgent Ug Bubu ploughed their way through the flimsy elf line. Despite athletic attempts to retrieve the situation, Hung Tinka was able to slip through and pull one back.

The kickoff saw Zulu! surge forward as one to chase down their kick and force the quick touchdown that would set up a dramatic finish. The elves loose caged well on their own endzone, and Catzombie drew the thundering orcs in before faking a step left and zooming away along towards the right hand touchline, before diving to the ground It was a desperate sprint but bought his team the time they needed to close the game out.

Zulu were left wondering where it all went wrong as the realisation dawned that they'd run out of time to stage a comeback. The players left upfield charged en masse into the endzone and clamoured for the ball. Bumba Klad, who had failed to make things happen with the ball in the first half, wasted no time in flinging the loose ball into the fray, but as Hung Tinka rose above his teamates to catch the bouquet and score his second of the match, the Savage Orcs were already beginning their inquest.

With the key trinity of Bubu, Gubgub and Klad all beginning to show their age, Zulu! now face a key transitional period.
