“My first game on the site in over 6 months, lured back by the blackbox division, saw my new chaos dwarves paired with PeteW's new wood elves. My first thought... oh no wood elves! How am I going to outscore these treehugging fairies!?
As luck would have it we (just about) managed to keep ahead of them in scoring thanks to two touchbacks giving the ball to my centaur and the same centaur managing to pick up the ball first try I believe 3 times during the match, netting him all 3 TDs in the end (I'm not sure I've ever managed 3 TDs with CDs in 2 halves only before).
By the time it was 1-1 halfway through the first half the casualties had started to pile up for the woodelves, with the first block thrown against PeteW's wardancer (named after himself) resulting in the green-clad ballet dancer's untimely death! That's what Nuffle thinks of namesakes!!
The casualties ticked upwards for the elves but they didn't give up - in fact only a good blitz let me stop them equalising at the end of the game to ensure our win. Cheers for the game PeteW - name an elf after me!”
