#7 Hotfoot – Smashed Hip (-MA)
This would be the first of the tougher games the Picnic would play this season, with an experienced coach using a strong line-up. Eganra wisely dropped his assistant coach to pick up a handicap, getting Illegal Drugs which made Elbows Knees and Toes his third +ST rat (Egan didn’t count Plague Rat!). For us, we hired Harkkon and hoped his dagger would prove effective against Egan’s AV7 (and AV6!).

We received and gained an extra reroll, blocking like crazy to stun all three of the rats who were on the LoS. Egan pushed forward, trying to crowd Comfy Chair near the back of our line, but he got the pass off to Brittany. A foul on Elbows snapped his spine, which Egan thankfully apothed. Curses, a BH there would have been nice.

What with the offensive (in both ways) Gutter Runners hovering, we really didn’t feel safe stalling, so crossed the line turn 3. 1-0 to the Picnic. I thought Egan might go for the slow score, but he decided to go with his one turner. There wasn’t much I could do to stop him, 1-1. And now we were on the offensive again.

This time our push wasn’t so effective and Brittany had to scramble to get away from the hoard of rats. 1 die blocks and 5+ dodges were all made by Egan and we were in trouble.….finally, a failed handoff to Comfy Chair allowed Egan to snatch the ball and get it to White Rat deep in my half. Paris tried to bring the rat down, but no luck….and now I think of it, I believe I forgot she had strip ball!! (Or used Brittany, I can’t remember). Anyway, White Rat managed to get away, and it was 1-2 the end of the first half.

Egan received, and it was his turn to spill the ball with a failed handoff. Brittany grabbed the ball and passed to Sunrise, who caged the ball. There were a couple of turns of block and dodgyness as Egan tried to get to the ball. Luckily, we held onto it and forced our way slowly up the field. Harkkon, quiet for the first half, went on a frenzy, Niggling Plague Rat and KO’ing the 2 other gutter runners. This proved vital in us stalling to take the draw. Near the end, Hotfoot got knobbled and we decided to let the injury go through to the keeper. Possibly not the wisest decision, but as a Lino his place is taking hits on the line, not running. 2-2 the final result, and we could ourselves lucky to get any points at all.

Well played Egan, in our first game in SWL with these two teams. All the best for the season. Oh, and Curse Harkkon for taking the MVP....

Votes

#3 – Potentail – hit Elves left right and centre. Only bad luck stopped him wracking up some injuries

#2 - Plague Rat – Did well, kept us on our toes with +ST and strip ball.

#1 - Elbows Knees and Toes – the drugged up nasty rat.

EDIT: Sigh..you know what? I forgot about Jankl and his accursed FA. :P I'll have to look back at the replay and see if it was Jankl that stuffed up that handoff. Must...pay...attention!

#16 Plague Rat – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#16 Plague Rat – Smashed Knee (NI)
The match was 2 different halves for the rats
1st half everything going right coaching mistake non existent the Gutter runners be offensive little rats the big buff st 4 rats drawing the share of attention. 1 die block going the rats way.
2nd half well caring a 2-1 lead the coach decided to try and skill up the useless thrower and well fumble coach mistake 1, ball in trouble the rats recover a bit then a costly double 1s followed by coach error number 2 rats going off for sleepy time lead threatened, not enough rats on the field draw immanent turn 16 draw.

votes if I was to give them to those who deserve 3 would go to Harkkon who was responsible for the damage to the rats but they will go to

#3 Brittany Spears taking all those catches that were needed while being close to Jankl

#2 Paris Hilton II next to Harkkon she cleared out GRs which was enough most of the time

#1 Iron maiden just pipping Sunrise fouls and kick slowly it up for me
