“SWL Season XXVII - Gone's Slipper Conference League XXVII - Round 5

The girls took control of the first half of the match. After removing the first couple of norsemen from the pitch, it became harder and harder for them to come up with anything that would knock our players over, let alone stop the touchdown.

We took a risk, scoring in turn 7 (hoping to get an extra hit or two in before half-time), which proved to be very costly. Nose Chompa was sent into the crowd, and with a few dodges, the norsemen managed to score the equaliser.

Half time score: 1-1

Our defence started fairly solidly, but eventually we left a bit of a gap, and the Norsemen took advantage of it. When Elf Bruisa finally went for the blitz on the ball carrier, he simply stared her down, watching as she went face first into the pitch in front of him ... and scored.

With one last shot at an equaliser, we made a play for it. Silly throwe thrwe the ball to Arm Breaka, who caught it (in a tackle zone no less)! Then making the last roll of the dice, she dodged away from the marking player straight into the grass in front of her. With that, all hope of an equalise was crushed. So close, and yet, so far.
