Handicaps for vicius - It wasn't me (on my DP), Virus, Bribe the Ref, Smelling Salts.
This was a very uneven match up, and a tall order for vicius and his new lizardman side. I just had to do enough for the win... but boy it was harder than that!
1st Half - The Khornets received, and things progressed well with a couple of skinks KO'd and another BH'd. But then the lizards fought back, inflicting a BH of their own. John Barnes wasn't happy about this... sharpened his claws, and removed the throat of the nearest saurus killing lubo penev. The lizards were trying to fight their way out of the restrictions that the chaos side had made to stop them getting to the ball carrier... and they managed to inflict another BH. In the end it was getting too close to the skinks pulling off a TD preventing play, so we ran in for the TD in turn 7/6. 1-0. A pitch invasion ensured there was no quick counter attack from the lizards.
2nd half, and bulgary stars received. With smelling salts coming into effect, 9 lizards and 10 chaos lined up. The half got underway, and yet another lizard left the field hurt with kishishev niggling a hand. At this point the lizards held the ball back, looking for a swift counter opportunity somewhere. Two Chaos Warriors left the field KO'd, and the game hung in the balance with 7 lizards and 8 chaos remaining... and they saw their chance... dashed away.. and scored!
This was serious now... the Khornets had to be careful not to throw this game away. 7 lizards lined up to defend against 10 chaos. Their chances of winning looked slim, but with 5 turns to go anything could happen. The chaos made their way forward, and looked comfortable, but two skinks were going to do their best to slow things down. We removed one from the pitch, but concentrated so much on the other we missed seeing that a Saurus was in blitzing range. Despite being in a tacklezone, trifon ivanov rolled a 6 for his dodge, but failed his first gfi... he then rerolled it, passed his next gfi for the block, and rolled both down or pushback. He didn't have block, so was forced to make my player score!
A very tough game for the lizards, who made it far more difficult for me than they should have been allowed to. I hope they recover for the league season! Thanks for the game!
