"Today a crowd of 84 000 Blood Bowl fans gathered in the Black Pitch, one of the most ancient Blood Bowl pitch to watch Precinct 10 play what will turn to be their last game.
They were playing vs goodgame, a not very known Nurgle's Rotters team which just won a little piece of fame here at Altdorf Today for being the team sealing the fate of one of my personnal favorite human teams, The Precinct 10.
It came quickly clear that the Humans couldn't handle the challenge and despite brave attempts the Precinct never managed to threaten the Rotters.
By the end of first half the Precinct had only 5 players left on the pitch. Everyone agreed the game was over by then but a bunch of fans who kept singing and cheering 'til the bitter end.
"I would like to thank personnally the fans who are so fantastic they tried and give us some help by throwing 3 rocks, 1 hurting the Nurgle's Beast out of the pitch. I never saw 3 rocks thrown in a match and i can tell those of my players who are conscious want to say it was great to play for such outstanding fans", says Coach tomfromparis.
Asked about the decision to retire the Precinct from playing, Coach tomfromparis explains:
"Well i gotta be honest: the loss of several major players some games ago was a major blow for us. It forced us to go for a recovery strategy, also sacking a couple of expensive players to lower our TR/TS.
The thing is we noticed we couldn't really threaten elves or tough teams like orcs or chaos at high TR/TS because of our lack of players with rare skills or stats. I think that in the 46 games we played, only one player ever got +AG and only one got +STR.
That's not enough to be a good challenger, so we tried to go for some rebuilding. Many deaths and permanent injuries those last games didn't give us any chance to succeed.
One last thing: despite the outcome i really need to say gintas is a skilled and friendly coach and it was a pleasure he was my last challenge with this team."
Asked about the future of his career as a coach, tomfromparis' answer is
"We have many great young men and women here in the 10th Precinct. We'll be back."
As for us, BloodBowl fans working in Altdorf Today, we can't help to shed a tear as we wave Precinct 10 goodbye.
But it's just a goodbye.
