“In front of 72,000 cheering fans (mostly for the Donut Boys), the Nard Harpies lined up against old time SWL favourites Mr Whippy’s Donut Boys. Fortunately for the Nard Harpies Mr Whippy’s Donut Boys feel ill to a timely virus, forcing both Treeman to miss the match.

However this didn’t prove to be a walk in the park style game for the Nard Harpies. Though the Ogres were 10 times stronger than the Halflings, they rarely got a good hit upon them, but when they did, it was sure to send the little guy to the side lines.

Mr Whippy’s Donut Boys scored fairly easily in the first half, with some great dodging and big hits of Ogres. The Nard Harpies came back and were fortunate to get the ball into the hands of an Ogre after a dropped hand-off to a goblin. The Ogres trudged up the field and looked likely to score late in the first half. This was not meant to be, as a little Halfling flexed his big little arms and blitzed the Ogre ball carrier knocking him down amongst a cage of Ogres.

(This is the 2nd time in a row this has happened right near the end zone, previous game it was a skink who did this. It would just be nicer if my opponent would be forced to use a re-roll atleast).

The 2nd half saw the game swing back the Nard Harpies way, only because most of the Donut Boys were side-lined and score moderately easily. Towards the end only 3 of the Donut Boys were left on the field but they still put up a valiant fight but the Nard Harpies finally seized their first victory for the season.

It’s amazing how hard it is to play when spectators are jeering you. But I guess when playing an SWL favourite like Mr Whippy’s Donut Boys you can’t expect the spectators to be wishing you well.

I also shudder to think, how the match would be if the 2 Treeman where on the pitch flinging flings and smashing Ogres.
