“Our chaos dwarves have just 11 players for this match after seeing 4 players seriously injured last game, despite spending a lot of money buying 3 new players. We're facing a 61-game ogre team with some nice ogres, though they are down to just 6 ogres + 4 goblins. Interesting matchup!
The handicap is extremely helpful, "I am the greatest!" seeing infighting and meaning their two best ogres refuse to play together!
The ogres start extremely well- bunching up in the middle while we pile in all around them, and then instead of breaking out they simple throw the ball carrying goblin over our heads with their +agi ogre, leaving us dumbfounded as he runs in the TD on their 2nd turn!
We rush down one side with a touchback giving the ball to our centaur but he's taken down by all 4 goblins! When our double GFI blitz on them fails they grab the ball and run into the pile of ogres. From there it's another downfield throw, but luckily for us he crashes to the ground not far back. We rush back a couple of players and secure the ball with a hobgob, and with the ogres out of RRs bone heads abound, letting us move forwards and secure a chance at a TD. In the end we are pretty lucky having to GFI twice and then catch the handoff with a dwarf who runs in the equaliser!
We receive for the 2nd half and start well, removing a couple of gobbos and an ogre while pushing up one side of the pitch. We manage to kill a goblin with a DP foul and secure the ball safely by their endzone, scoring the following turn to take the lead.
They will have 4 turns to try and turn it around, though they only have 4 ogres + one goblin on the pitch! They grab the ball and set up to throw the lone goblin the following turn - but with no players to guard the sidelines we are able to run several hobgoblins through, pushing the gobbo away from his passer ogre. Everyone else swarms around the ogres, meaning they just can't get a pass attempt and we are able to knock down the ball and then engineer an unlikely TD in our final turn when we push a hobgoblin within range of the endzone and manage to pickup the ball, hand it to him and see him make both GFIs to make it 3-1!
Cheers for the game Bluemi!
