“Our chaos dwarves (missing a rookie dwarf blocker) vs Blackwidow's 12 dark elves. Looks like a close game. They get 1 handicap: extra training, bringing them to three rerolls.
We start well, BH'ing a lineman, KO'ing another and our DP seriously injuring one of their DPs (while holding the ball) on our first turn. We push forwards well, getting in a lot of blocks and filling their KO box. But their defensive blitzing is superlative, and they dodge through tackle zones again and again to knock down our hobgoblin ball carrier and we can't score even after 8 turns. To add insult to injury they crowd push a dwarf blocker (niggling injury) in their final turn due to poor positioning by us, whoops!
We set up 10 vs just 6 elves for the 2nd half. They score in two turns down one side of the pitch despite our best attempts to surround them with players. We counterscore as fast as we can with our +MA centaur, managing it in 3 turns so there are 4 turns left each.
This time we get a good turn in, knocking down their blodge blitzer with the ball and then grabbing it with a hobgoblin who scurries over to hide by our troll. But it's not enough and a 1d blitz, a series of dodges, a pickup in a TZ and a short pass later they have scored again!
We have 3 turns and once again we barrel forward with the ball in our MA7 centaur's hands, removing all 3 players from the LOS so there are just 3 blitzers facing us. And with a 4 dwarf X-cage they can't get in and we score to make it 2-2 in the final seconds of the game!
