“SWL Season XXVII - Gone's Slipper Conference League XXVII - Round 7

The first half saw some fine defensive play by the Ancients, and we struggled to make our way towards the endzone. Fortunately, luck was on our side, and when push came to shove, Throat Krusha was able to knock the wolf out of her way, and score a touchdown in turn 6. With three turns remaining, there was certainly opportunity for an equaliser, but the girls defensive play showed promise, and they were comfortably able to prevent a touchdown.

Half time score: 1-0

Defensively, the girls continued to do quite well in the second half, first surrounding, and then getting some nice hits on the ball carrier, who just wouldn't go down (I suspect the Ancient's coach felt the same frustration in the first half - damn blodgers!). Eventually, the ball came clear (we were starting to get a little low on numbers, and the Ancients pulled out a touchdown in turn 8.

Man of the match. Once he had the ball in the second half, this guy wouldn't let it go... that is, until he graciously handed it over to Blackclaw who strolled in for the touchdown.

2 pts: Flesh and Bones
This guy was might annoying - block, dodge, SF and guard - we're pretty lacking in tacklers, so he had a field day. Getting right into the thick of things where there was little we could to to get him out of the way. Thankfully, he hasn't got tackle (yet).

Two casualties from five blocks is not bad if yo ask me - I think we're lucky this guy didn't get used more than he was.”
