“A fine day for the Harag Thunderfists as they took on the Khregarz Krusherz.
The Thunderfists got the first attempt at offence. The Krusherz got of a blitz, but the first block with the Orc teams troll rolled double skulls so the turnover was immediate. The Thunderfists took good use of the situation and ran the ball effectively. The ball carrier made a great solo effort and was almost blitzed down, but luck prevailed the dwarves this time. 1-0 was scored early in the second half.
The Orcish offence was not so lucky. Their thrower failed an important throw and the ball was suddenly open. The Thunderfists swarmed the ball and after a short struggle for control and some failed orcish dodges, Haldor Spikeboot after two attempts managed to pick up the ball and run for the touchdown. 2-0 was a very pleasant half time score for the dwarf team.
In the second half the Krusherz had a different tune. Their thrower was again in a tight spot, but managed to get the ball in the middle of a swarm of orcish players. The Thunderfists did their best to get the ball back, but to no avail. Marzkud picked up the ball and ran for the 2-1 touchdown.
The following drive was a very tricky one for the dwarves. The orcish kicker placed the ball near the LOS and close to the sideline. The Thunderfists had their hands full trying to prevent the orcs from getting the ball. In the end the Thunderfists were successful and the orcs never got to touch the ball. A close victory for the Thunderfists after a dominating performance in the first half.
Thanks to my opponent for a fun game. Luck was definitely on my side today as I rarely failed a dodge (with dwarves for gods sake!) and most of my blocks succeeded as well.”
