“Our new humans face flix's 9 woodies + an apo for their 2nd game.
We kick off after remarking that it's going to be hard to catch their wardancer (no tackle) - and the crowd invade the pitch stunning him! They then go for a 2d block but roll 4 skulls, essentially giving us the first turn! But they recover in typical wood elf style despite 3 players of ours by the ball they push 2 away, grab the ball in front of the other and then dodge and pass it upfield to score on turn 4.
We have 5 turns to get the ball from where it lands in our endzone after a 'bad kick' from the woodies. We pick it up and start running it upfield while trying our best to remove some wood elves, without any luck except when their wardancer tries to leap but instead knocks himself out. Then just as we get the ball upfield the woodies pull off a brilliant turn, blitzing down the ball carrier with 1d despite our loose screen, then standing up their prone catcher and moving him downfield, then dodging through tackle zones for the ball, passing a long pass to their catcher over our heads and finally dodging 2 more woodelves away and down to their catcher so we can't blitz him! They score their 2nd on their last turn without problems.
We receive for the 2nd half and run the ball upfield without (many) problems, scoring on our 4th turn. There's a quarter to go and we've 11 vs just 7 elves.. can we do it? PITCH INVASION! We have 3 stunned and they have 4, including their catcher who was in thrower position. Their first move is to run an elf back for the ball but double 1s means we have a chance! We knock over every elf but the one at the back and rush through with a couple of players. They grab the ball with their catcher but leave him in a tackle zone, hoping dodge will keep him upright. But we engineer some assists and then free up a blitzer to blitz him down with 3 dice, grab the ball and run in the equalising touchdown! 2-2 and only a few turns to go.
And they would certainly have won it with their catcher... until he slips on a GFI despite rerolling on turn 6, then double 1s trying to pick it up again on turn 7! We throw him out of the stadium on our final turn to secure the draw- hurrah!
Cheers for the game Flix, you certainly deserved to win but it was great fun :)”
