“It was Real Sociedead’s most important game since the crunch match that led to them lifting the Premiership Title all those seasons ago, the OBBA Cup final! Few teams had sacrificed as much and gambled so greatly to get here.
Their stake in the competition had cost them a Wight, Several Ghouls and a 180K investment into the Count von Drakenborg retirement fund and the gamble was that they would play an equally strengthed Maharak Dead Boys Under 21's in the final… but that was not to be and instead the final saw them play OBBA’s new Undead talent, Larsenal who had already placed Count von Drakenborg on retainer for the game.
The game sadly lacked the competitiveness of the road that Real travelled to get here. Larsenal knew only too well that Real had just two ball carriers in the team and quickly dispatched one of them with a trusty boot.
With the Count in control of the ball and Hypnotising any Real attempt at a counter there was little that Real could do to prevent the game heading towards anything but certain defeat and instead concentrated on honing their players blocking game for what would undoubtedly be a tough Season Six in the Premiership – holding up well despite outclassed.
All in all a heroic Cup performance from Real who eventually ran out of steam and likely should have realised their limitations in the Semi against Oval Balls.
