A fair reflection of the game from gregory. The wizard (hired for the forfeited Skullgods game last season) pulled off the perfect cage-breaking fireball and then Brian sucked in a desperate offence before a classic pinpoint pass for the counter.

3pt:Tarero Blackquarry - Scored on his debut with a most un-dorflike speed TD, unlucky not to stop the first drive with a brave blitz
2pt:Behge Slatefist - Impossible to knock down and showed up his teammates with the only CAS on a key player for the Knights early on
1pt:Grundrin Hurgrumasson - Caught a kick-off and drove powerfully for the line before getting zapped at the last minute

Belvain have had a season off and their form seems to show it!
Coming into the match Belvain hadnt lost a game in 11 matches. Season XXVII was undefeated and meant to be the Stonemasons launch into Prem - but the coaches holiday meant the team had to sit out the season and come back into Conf.

Despite retiring the greatest Dwarven Thrower ever to grace the SWL the dorfs still should have had the firepower to beat a relatively young Elf team - but elves are slippery and sometimes they have nasty friends in the stands.

The dorfs won the kickoff and opted to kick, and managed to get a turnover early on through some good defense – but then things went downhill. The elves got the ball back and scored leaving the Stonemasons 5 turns to score.
The dorfs also had “get the ref” and despite a number of DP gang fouls only managed a KO (there was an SI from a crowd surf). Working comfortably and slowly downfield and nearing the endzone, a pointy eared wizard popped up and fireballed the dorfs, knocking down 5 out of a possible 5 players.
The elves then went downfield in a turn and scored to make it 2-0 at the half, largely against the run of play.

Second half the dorfs needed to score fast to have any chance of a draw – managed to score turn 3. The elves received the kickoff and stayed deep to spread the dorfs – despite some steady pressure, the thrower dodged out of a TZ and launched a long bomb to an open elf for the third score of the match. It ended at 3-1.

The wizard turned out to be a good investment – 50k is a fair price for a win.

3pt: #8 Dec II - ran the ball for a bit, through a late foul, had plenty of blocks and the only cas for the elves. In all the action.
2pt: #12 Max Bygraves - 2TDs, right place right time
1pt: #11 Young Kenny - didnt really do a lot but sure looked good not doing it.
