“First game for the 'Stealers in the 2009 Minors saw them face off against a mean looking Undead squad. The 'stealers elected to kick in the first half and then it all went wrong.

What exactly happened is anybodys guess. Rumours abound say that the Thrills had planted bananaskins all over the pitch just beneath the turf. This is as yet unconfirmed but the 'stealers were finding it hard to stay on their feet despite their hard training for this match. The Thrills just kept on pushing relentlessly and scored 1-0 in the closing minutes of the first half.

The 'Stealers got to receive in the second half and true to their brethren race they ran rings around the stiff reanimated corpses that were the Thrills and managed to score the equalizer 1-1 after some dancing on the sidelines and hefty dodging. This left some time for the Thrills to attempt a TD and they almost made it, but a blindsided tackle by star Dark Elf Blitzer Jê'ssê saw the attempt follied.

The game went into overtime and both teams were exhausted by this point. Coin toss provided the elves to receive but some last minute reorganization in the undead ranks saw them stiffen the defence quite considerably. The elves were unperturbed and forced the ball after some hefty handling deep into the Thrills side of the pitch, but the Defence was insurmountible and the ball was lost. The crowd helped the ball fly to the other side of the pitch an d both teams scrambled after. The elves superior skills saw them steal the ball and score a last minute TD. Win for the 'Stealers!!!

Was a nailbiter of a game with lots of ups and downs. Great sportsmanship and banter was plentiful. Cu for a rematch :) ”
