Recrudescence of Vanyar 2 - 0 Stewards of Gondor

Dear Vanyar,

GLORY! Oh sweet glory; it has become synonymous with Vanyar as neither bard nor child nor tavern patron can utter one without the other.

I of course bring fair tidings once more as we convincingly defeated our opposition, the Stewards of Gondor, and rightfully claimed our appointment of defending our Ring of Air against whatever foul forces Mordor dare cast our way.

Our spirits were originally low as two of our brethren’s reoccurring injuries raised their ugly heads and so we were down to 12 men before a blow had been dealt by the mighty Stewards.

Fortune favoured us as we caught their offense sleeping and quickly rearranged our formation. This did little to perturb our opponents who made short work of our line, and the highly capable Boromir charged into our flank, stopping his move by the sideline, feeling secure with his Ogre wall.

Idgar however pays no mind to walls, and leapt over the ogre to send Boromir sailing into the crazed spectators.

The Stewards regrouped and caged the ball. Idgar however pays no mind to cages either and once more leapt into the fray, dispossessing, and angering them in on fell swoop. The ball was then duly collected and tossed to our player up field.

The Stewards mounted a lynch mob for Idgar, tired of his shenanigans… but even the core of a stampeding Steward Army was no match for even a prone Idgar. We allowed the clock to tick away before finally ending the Stewards’ misery.

0 – 1

We now felt the task was accomplished and set about to ensuring a slow and painless travel to a second score. Still angered by the boot to Idgar we took great measures in ridding the field of the Stewards’ foul specialist and KO’d him. Boromir was back, and made his presence known by once again leading the charge, though this time he retreated behind a line of his comrades… and not too close to the fans either. We set about trying to divide their ranks, no small feat given their uncharacteristic speed. Whilst the Stewards failed to remove our numbers we didn’t fail and sent several to join their friend and in time found a clear path through. Our over confidence got the better of us when we assumed the Stewards had given up all hope, but alas a late charge from Denethor I blitzed beyond the ball carrier’s marker just off the sideline, and badly hurt him before collecting the ball… a very impressive, if somewhat dangerous, move.

He too was now surfed into the crowed, the ball was collected and a second touchdown scored.

0 – 2

All in all, this was a grand outcome, for it is no secret that we have allied ourselves with the mighty Stewards in an effort to claim Victory in the Two Towers tournament, to reunite the Ring of Human and Dwarf kind with the Freeworld Revival!

Our reciprocated mercy upon each other serves both well, and we have likely done them a good service by potentially sparring them from the brutality of Mordor… and of course ourselves.

The Rings are beckoning, and who are we to ignore their wanton call?

Regards,
Tarius

First and foremost a good and fun game (as always with G_Force) despite his lamentations with Blood Bowl after several bad games.

G was put on the back foot in a big way by T2 which had seen him lose control of the ball and down his best blitzer. His frustration with himself got the better of him and he spent a turn or two thereafter trying to make my Elf pay… which never manifested.

Despite all of his MB he only managed a single KO (and a BH in T15) the whole game, with a handful of stuns making his task even more difficult. My snakes came at unimportant moments in the scheme of things so were weathered very well… though a lack of block on some of the players started to show in the second half.

Thanks for the game G. Hope nuffle gives you a break soon mate.
