The Infection Got the Ref in the first half, which they took advantage of. However, it also allowed Stellemin the Shadow unfettered opportunities to do his thing. His two foul-casualties early in the game (including one rotter who didn't regen) may have been the deciding factor, as the Sorcerer's played man-up most the rest of the game.
In the first half the Infection moved the ball down the pitch in a tight cage which the elves were unable to stop, fouling whenever possible along the way. Fortunately for the spellslingers, the Infection's lack of a dp meant no cas. Following the rotten ones 1st half td, the elves got the ball back with two turns and executed a picture-perfect two-turn score, much to the amazement of their few remaining fans!
The second half saw the Sorcerers move steadily forward in an aggressive running play following a bad kick. This proved costly as the rotters were able to bust the ball loose and cause a general scrum. Once both teams ran out of rerolls however luck favored the agile elves and they managed to scoop up the ball for a late score. Although the rotters managed a long shot attempt at evening it up, luck was not with them.
The fans, finally seeing a little elf ball and some opponents blood, rewarded the team with a few more disciples. On a side note, my two skill upgrades were doubles and +AG, so that's a hell of a bonus.
Great game Nextflux, I thought it was really fun...especially with the win and no cas! Better luck next time. ”
