“Manfred von Richthofen, the final surviving foundation member of the German Vermin, today died after playing 82 out of the first 84 Vermin games. He was awarded 8 Twahnlow medals, named in 3 SWL representative teams, and lead Germany to win the SWL Premier title twice. There has never been a thrower more successful than Manfred in the SWL, and there probably never will be.
It all happened pretty much as described by Olaf. We lost another 3 players this game, making 7 out of the 3 games played so far in Season 28. Things don't look so great for the Vermin at the moment. Manfred and Benz are dead, Wilhelm has been forced to retire, and we're now down to 8 players.
Tinman takes over the captaincy, the first time anyone other than Manfred has lead the team. What will this mean....? The only silver lining is that the fans have stuck with us, so far, and suddenly our player costs, which recently have been cripplingly high, are the lowest they've been in years.
Maybe we'll survive this, maybe we won't, but we won't be giving up.

Well this game was over in the first turn really. I got Bad Press and Virus as my 2 handicaps. This took Kaiser Wilhelm, a very dangerous Gutter Runner out of the game for the Germans. It also left them with only 10 players for the game. In the first turn Alois Hitler was killed, with the apo failing, and another rat was also taken off the pitch.
From there things quickly turned into a rout. The Germans were able to foul my ST6 Mummy, Lacrosse, off the pitch with a foul after he rolled a double skull on a block. He was BH and regen was of no assistance. The ref saw what happened and sent Albert Speer off the field for the rest of the game.
Matt Tinsen was KO'd as rats left the pitch all over the place. Manfred von Richthofen was killed by Linkin Park on a foul and the Vermin ended the half with only 3 rats left for the rest of the game.
The second half was largely forgettable. 3 players became 2 players as Heinz-Harald Frentzen BH himself on a failed dodge attempt. Sascha Konietzko and Matt Tinsen, the only 2 rats left did well to stay on the pitch for the entire second half. One highlight for the Undead was Donald Koosar, a ST4 Zombie finally getting his second skill up, on an interception of all things!
Kevin Smith, had an awesome debut game for Things I Like, scoring 2 TD's, 2 CAS and the MVP. His career looks to be incredibly short-lived though as he also picked up a niggling injury on a double 1 ageing roll for his first skill!
The training co-ordinators are rumoured to be getting the sack due to this latest incident. That makes 3 players that have picked up a niggle due to ageing in the short history of the team, including the 2 best players to have ever put on the Things I Like jumper, Lacrosse and Futurama.
Symmetrical was pretty contained in what must have been a very frustrating match for him. Hopefully the team will recover and return to the Premier division stronger than ever. Thanks for the game Symm.

3 Votes: Matt Tinsen - He gets the votes just for managing to stay on the pitch for all of the second half, despite the Undead's best efforts, when the rats were down to 2 men. I would have dearly loved to see the end of this scary rat.

1 Vote: Manfred von Richthofen - Manfred gets 1 vote for dying on the pitch like a true Blood Bowl player. Unfortunately for Manfred the boot of Linkin Park was the last thing he ever saw.”
