This match started badly when my niggled hobgoblin failed to show, and it quickly got worse when Cheiron, my most skilled player, got knocked out with an SI in the first couple of turns. Not wanting to use up the apothecary so early on a non-fatal non-niggle injury, I let him leave the game. Unfortunately, the game proceeded with numerous KO's, BH's and SI's, and only one of the KO'd players bothered to wake up before the last possesion of the game.
Despite the increasing short-handedness, CA managed to keep it a competitive game for a half as both teams spent much of it trying to pick up a loose ball in the Anchorman end of the field. Unfortunately, by the time the Cast of Anchorman picked up the ball, I was missing both bull centaurs and most of the hobgoblins, and the dwarfs were tied up and too slow to do much anyway.
After halftime, the match just got more and more one-sided. When I finally did use my apothecary on the third SI of the game, he failed! By the final possession, I was down to three players before two KO victims finally woke up. Needless to say, it wasn't possible to field a capable offense with just two dwarfs, two hobgoblins and a bull centaur against a fully outfitted opponent.
OK, rant over. I may sound irritated, but the game was just so lopsided that there's just nothing to do but grin and bear it. Certainly, Mattius was a very gracious winner and sympathetic to my plight(and I certainly didn't expect him to lay off under the circumstances). ”
“The luck difference of 28% pretty much sums allot of the match up. Cast Of Anchorman on paper looked the stronger team with 3 more players and more skills. To add to this they won the coin toss, got a blitz from first kick off and both fouls resulted in Cas with no ref. 4 Cas from non mighty blow players and the chaos dwarfs inability to get POWs was the icing on the cake to make this game a near certain victory after 5 turns.”
