“Starting to think we've misplaced our priorities. The seekers have been seeking rather abysmally this season and this match was supposed to be one in which it was expected their fates would find them without having to seek.
The seekers tooled up with a wizard - first time ever a team from snorriheim have sought the services of their kind (anything with beards is despised in snorriheim, even if they are unusually tall for a bearded one). Given the woodies are defending premiers, they deserve some extra challenges lest they suffer too badly from boredom at the top ;)
The game however, was mostly one way traffic. The seekers got morley's, which fortunately knocked out some of the woodies' best, but most importantly, kept that ag4 monster off the pitch whenever the woodies were receiving.
And without getting an early numbers advantage, the woodies really struggled for position. It was only through the heroic efforts of their backup ball player, Rainbow Warrior, that they still managed to look the goods - he survived two very important and vicious rounds of blocking and we subsequently failed to steal the ball from him the entire game!
Nevertheless we got there in the end and the wizard too did his part (recovered us the ball after we failed our blitzing). The woodies were always playing catchup and that diverted their usual bloody-mindedness (we feel for the next team they have to meet!) On the other side of the pitch, the seekers almost enjoyed a flawless game apart from those two blitzes on Rainbow.
Twahnlows:
3 votes: Rainbow Warrior - far and away their standout player who almost single-handedly kept them in the game.
2 votes: Philberto - very busy, but unfortunately this game, largely ineffective.
1 vote: Chop air - also busy, but he too was largely ineffective.”
