“I probably should not have won this match. In fact, I probably shouldn't have scored. Twice, smjack70 moved instead of blitzing. The first one I might have engineered around and still scored, but was running out of time in the first half, so the odds would have tipped strongly against me. The second would have at best (for me) left me with a GFI to score ... and I was out of rerolls. We know how the goal line trip makes Nuffle smile.
If not for a very fortunate BH against the ST 4 ghoul (man, that thing's a beast) at the end of the Commandos' scoring drive, I don't think I'd have even had the chance I did to take the lead.
Well played by my opponent. A fun game, as always.”
“My opponent is too kind. What might have happened is academic: the fact is that I created a couple of opportunities that he capitalized upon. I made two or three major mistakes, my opponent didn't return the favor, and in this game making mistakes hurts worse than crumby dice rolling. At least I can take this game as an object lesson, and hopefully correct that part of me which is making mouse clicks before my brain has finished processing all input. ;-)
That aside from that (and some sour grapes on my part shortly after the match: sorry SavageJ), it was a hard fought match on both sides of the pitch. A challenging game is always the best, and this one was a lot of fun.”
