This was a very special match. Dolls, who is a self proclaimed elf coach, had spawned a wicked necro team from the corpse of the dodgiest the elven lands could muster. I don't think I have ever seen an undead team of any kind come so close to dodging like that, and not only with the ghouls and wights, but with the flesh golems and regular zombies. But the downside of having a dodgy necro elf team is that they also inherited the elven weakness to any form of physical harm. They took a real beating from No Escape.

The match was dominated by the sweltering heat. After a succesful drive for the House of God, where the khemri could put up little defense, the heat took out 3 of the 4 mummies for the khemri counter drive. To make it even worse the opponent also set up a Perfect Defense. Despite this the remaining mummy, Kherokk the Hungerer, managed to clear a path by cas'ing out both of the flesh golems. Through some fortunate maneuvers they achieved what looked like a sure TD in T7. But as would happen many times during the match, Dolls pulled out some amazingly high odds dodges from his bag o' tricks and a zombie could make it's way to the ball carrier. Failing both a 2d block and a dodge attempt No Escape's run at a tie in the first half failed miserably.

The valiant defense from the House of God had come at a high price though. One of the flesh golems had his jaw shattered and the warewolf had been niggled on a gangfoul.

With all mummies back in play No Escape looked like they would have a quite easy way to a tie, but the House of God continued to mock them with very difficult dodges and an amazing success with 1d blocks. Eventually they got to the ball, but a fortunate 2d blitz took down the blodging ghoul ball carrier and The Caretaker could finally stumble in a TD. If not my morale would have sunk to nothing. Two times I had watched my team get stopped right on the end zone line.

For the last turns the necro elves tried to break through the defenses, but with both of their wights missing due to the heat they couldn't come closer than to safeguard the tie.

Thanks for the match, Dolls! It was a lot of fun. My own dodgy teams are actually jealous of the way your necro dodges :D
