Beastman Burlesque Brawl!
It's our 2nd game and we're up against skolopender's beastmen from the "hood" - whatever that is. Looks pretty even with 11 players and 3 RRs each, though since they have an apo and a DP they are perhaps slightly stronger on paper.

We kick off, setting up 3 beastmen on the LOS as sacrifices. But poor block dice on their first turn mean an early turnover and we're the first team to get a foul in - KO'ing a beastman! We rush through after the ball but they secure it quite well and start kicking us around. Our beast goes for his first multiblock (picking up the skill in his 1st game) ... but he fails his stupid roll!

There's a bit of a punchup around the centre before they finally run two beastman through with the ball - but we're able to blitz em down and then get beasties back. It then turns into a fair bit of reroll-less madness as the ball is constantly dropped and turnovers abound. At one point one of their beastmen badly hurts himself on a failed dodge. On turn 8 we have a (slight) chance at a touchdown, and everything goes right - including a short pass - right until the 2nd GFI into the endzone where our player falls over!

They start the 2nd half with a blitz! And this sufficiently messes up our starting turn blocks (and the safety of the ball) that we're in trouble from the start. They quickly make it worse with 2 KOs, though we respond by MNG'ing their DP (apo used but fails). Eventually, by burning all our rerolls (and after a double failed-dodge at the start of their turn giving an immediate turnover) we're able to take control of the ball and push through. They rush back extremely well (while we're trying to set up another beast multiblock and causing turnovers) and get a player by the ball - which is on the ground due to us trying to skillup our 2 beastmen on 5spp. Anubis finally gets his multiblock in - and it's a niggling injury + a KO! We then manage to grab the ball and run in the touchdown on turn 6. We set up 10 versus just 6 - but then a pitch invasion stuns 3 of ours (and one of theirs) giving them a little space!

They have a few turns but simply don't have enough players (or the great dice they needed) to make it happen, instead seeing another beasty of theirs niggled on a both-down. On our last turn Anubis goes for another multiblock, picking both-down.. but only managing a KO.

Great game Skolo- could easily have gone the other way with reversed injury dice!
