#1 Go-Faster – Broken Ribs (MNG)
This was a very fun match with lots of twists and changes of possession. Started off looking like a nice easy dwarf victory what with Kick off results and failures on the Humans side to injure any of the Crew. A crazy Blitz in the middle resulted in a Human Blitzer catching the bouncing ball in many Tackle-Zones! Eventually, Humans Scored late in the game, leaving only 2 turns for the slow-footed dwarves to retaliate, Which they did after a failed blitz. The Humans were able to defend with a decided lack of numbers;First KO of the 2nd half was GTR in the Dwarves favor! Several humans spent a large number of turns in the KO box: Notably the one human Guard was one such player. Several coaching decisions by yours truly failed to capitalize on turns of the game like a HUGE misclick that reslted in yet another Human Knock out, and the game went to a third half. With a debatably too-deep defense the dwarves were not close enough to capitalize on a Human team who were without rerolls and failing blocks. Their thrower was able to slip in and hurl a last ditch pass near the Dwarves' Endzone. Dwarves and Humans alike streamed down the field after the ball, with the Humans finally succeeding in a Push back blitz followed by an pick-up that he made look easy and a waltz into the endzone, no GFI needed. Much fun was had by all. Congratulations and Good luck in the Cup!!

The Knights started this game shakily. The Defensive rearrangement at kick-off made things difficult but the line punched well. putting down many dwarfs, but not even marking their armour.

Semi-final nerves can only account for some of the fluffs made by the Knights in the next few minutes, Blitzer, Derrick Sabre, failed an easy dodge in attempt to make an outnumbering blitz on the near touchline. This gave the Dwarfs the chance to lay the smackdown in return.

But once again the human line, more or less held, giving thrower, Sven Cattlemonger plenty of time to choose a pass. Picking Blitzer, Alex Griffin, chancing if he failed to catch the catcher, Balyze Falcon was behind him and flanked by two linemen. Was again they fumbled and brought disaster upon themselves.

I can only say how proud I was in the way the team responded to adversity. Having brought the brutality on themselves they resisted it sternly.

A Dwarf Cage, forged of pig iron, made its way slowly to the end zone. The knights threw body after body and slowed the advance to a crawl.
Then the heroic Spike Spiegal saw an opening and pounced, with the help of surrounding linesmen Spike's tackle was waist high and therefore nearly removed the Dwarf runner's head. his eye popped from his socket. In all the shock Spike took up the ball.

Back tracking and using the width of the pitch Spike found Blaze Falcon who raced to the endzone.

But then the Knights switched off and the Dwarfs, led by Wheelbarrow, plundered forward. The defence to thinly spread, and with a chance in sight Wheelbarrow desperately sprinted forward and saw that a Longbeard had got to the line, with a pass and a catch the half ended all square.

The next half was an exercise in resistance. All the stars of teh Knights team tooks beatings and went down for teh 10 count. But the Knights held tough. They refused to die.

And with this ethic they took the game to extra time.

With the surviving remenants of their squad the knights could not find a way to open the Dwarfs. Outnumbered they took hit after after hit and remained steadfast. picking their fights wisely gangs of linemen roamed trying to pry an opening. Without sucess. But a Dwarf counterattack crumbled and Sven Cattermole danced in picked up the ball and threw to nowhere. A chance for the Wayfarer, Ludd, to chase the ball, push the last dwarf out of the way and take the winning touchdown.
