At the end of the first quarter, Max broke free of a vicious central LOS melee and gave ball carrying, slippery norse catcher Olaf Magnusson a shove towards the sidelines. Seeing Olaf backed up to the rowdy fans by the hulking chaos warrior, norse lineman Egill Olafsson sprinted over to blitz Olaf free. Olaf tried his best to distract the mighty Max Carnage, in hopes it would assist his teammate in knocking the opposing player to the pitch...

"You think you got me Big Man? We're about to sort you out good. Maybe even lay in a boot just to give you something to think about on the way to the hospital, Big Man..."

Satisfied with Max's furious glare, Magnusson saw Olafsson approaching on the chaos warrior's blind side. He smiled at the thought of the opposing player taken down unawares by the much smaller norse teammate. But as that thought passed through his mind, his eyes betrayed him with a quick, almost imperceptible glance to the right.

Max Carnage saw it and instantly realized what it meant. He didn't even look over his shoulder, just violently hammered out his massive, spiked gauntlet, catching Egill right in the sternum. Max's fingers clamped shut around the norse player's ribs, snapping several with a sickening crunch. Egrill gave a wet grunt, his charge stopped in its tracks, and all his muscles went slack.

Max swung the limp body forward, and all Magnusson had time to do was shriek in surprise and dismay before the now unconscious body of his teammate collided heavily with him, sending both of them sprawling backwards into the stands...

The ball sailed back onto the pitch, and after a short struggle midfield by members of both teams, Max himself jogged over and scooped the ball up, then charged down the pitch, crossing into the end zone for what would be the only touchdown of the match.
