“Blackbox has matched up my noreroll darkies vs funnyfingers' noreroll dwarves!
They receive, picking up with a str 4 runner, and then spending most of the half smacking us around. They have so much guard it's extremely difficult for us to get much in the way of 2d blocks at all. Towards the end of the half we've finally been able to spread them out slightly and we're able to get a 1d blitz in on their ball carrier, but even with a reroll we can't knock him over. They score on turn 8 after KILLING our DP - though our apothecary saves him! We use our last turn of the half to exact revenge- our DP badly hurting a rookie longbeard in a gang foul! The ref looks the other way but when we do the same thing at the start of the 2nd half he sends off our DP immediately! This time it was a MNG and the dwarves use their apo to save him.
We run through their lines by turn 3 and then spend the next couple of turns evading them, switching sides with a nice handoff at one point. But they are doing some extremely good defense and we are forced to score on turn 6, leaving them 3 turns to try and win it.
They pile almost all their players around the line of scrimmage- choosing to go for a gang foul (no DP) instead of defending the back field. And when their STR4 runner fails the pick up we have a last turn attempt at the win- a good blitz by our witch elf knocks one runner onto the ball, and it scatters nicely into a clear space! We're able to dodge a blitzer away, grab it and run in the touchdown to go 2-1 up!
