“The first half went beautifully right up until the end of it. Zara removed two mummies early on, and that made things pretty easy. However, having used up my rerolls, I made the mistake of attempting an unnecessary hand-off (skill-up ftw!) and it failed. After picking the ball back up, a go-for-it was required, failed, 0-0 at half time. After that, Nuffle abandoned me. The second half was a disaster, I squeezed away a touchdown but got systematically wiped out as I failed everything I tried and GeneralMarauder had no problems of his own. Into overtime, with fortunately 4/5 KO rolls made, I'm still in the game.
If I'd had another reroll or two, I would have won. If I hadn't been foolish and tried to skill up, I'd have won. If 5/7 regens had been 5/7 failed regens, I'd have won (including 2/2 mummy regens). This is typical competition result for me, a game I _should_ have won but didn't, and only myself to blame despite the bad dice. Frustrating as hell. Still, it was a good game played in good spirits.
Quote of the game: after rolling my 4th or 5th (lost count) double skulls, I asked GM where his were. "On the field." :-)
Star player: Zara the Slayer who made it a very tough game for Nehekhara Royals who are lucky to have only a skeleton missing from their next game.
Most lucky: Me, with 5 badly hurt, and a lot knocked out, this could have been much more savage on Savage Norsica.”
