#7 [Clone Trooper] Otis – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#7 [Clone Trooper] Otis – Smashed Knee (NI)
#15 [Clone Trooper] Korinda – Smashed Knee (NI)
Following a very closely fought Clone Wars it was Order 66 that bested their Star System to get to the Galactic Championships. Winning their Semi Final round they found themselves in the final battling fellow Jedi and old adversaries, Rylothian Dancers, in what was a very fitting epic of a game for the Galactic Championship final!

There were many events that occurred off the field prior to the game from Taun We acquiring a small Force Field generator, leaked news stories of one of the show girls allegedly dancing for money in an unbecoming fashion and as a result the two Jedi Master of the Dancers having a disagreement.

On top of all of this Order66 had heard that some suspect and peculiar betting patterns had been wagered on the underdogs, which would later be confirmed after discovering that the referee in the first half had been bought off… no doubt by Sith looking to make a quick credit!

Both teams had hired the services of powerful Jedi Masters to wield fire and lightening, each of which showed great reluctance in using their Jedi powers to influence the game early on.

Order66 received and sat deep, determined not to make a quick score. The outclassed clones of Order66 slowly began to even the field by KOing the Showgirls wherever they could. All seemed to be going well late in the game as the Dancers were reduced to around 5 or 6 players, but then Taun We took an unlikely blitz that toppled him and more importantly stunned him, thereby seriously hindering the attack.

It was left to the clones to try and salvage the situation, but alas their ineptitude shone through and they failed miserably.

The only plus point from the first half was that the Dancer’s KO box remained full, with only one of the five returning to play. But even with a quick reformation of the defence against 6 or 7 Dancers they couldn’t stop them and an embarrassed Order66 could only encourage them to make a quick score.

The KOs continued to trickle back to consciousness with only one more recovering, leaving the Dancers once again outnumbered if not outclassed. Order66 found the going to the endzone relatively straightforward under the circumstances and were able to stall out the second half, their best shot at this stage to take it to OT!

The Dancers numbers increased once more as Oredr66’s had now dwindled enough that there’s was only a single man advantage… the game was level and their advantage had been lost, things were about to get tougher.

A horrid kick saw the ball land on the LOS besides the colossus Jedi Beldorian. It took the combined efforts of four clones, led by the powerful sergeant to topple it before the ball was safely collected and taken back deep. The Dancers then unleashed a huge explosion amongst those clones, seriously injuring one, stunning two others and toppling the fourth… a disastrous blow! Order66’s Orun Wa found herself soon pressured by the Dancers as they flooded into the Order66 half… the dancers however left a relatively easy passage to manoeuvre through the line and toss the ball deep, the pass however failed but the ball landed besides a clone deep in the Dancer half with more Order66 players in support.

The Dancers however had the agility to claim the ball from the foot of Order66, dodge away and toss a long bomb back into the Order66 half to make it an all too easy 2 – 1.

At best the game would now be a tie. The Dancer’s had won through the attrition to outnumber Order66 at long last, and to hinder them further - in the following quarter Oredr66 seemed to lose the plot.

Order 66 began by getting players into threatening positions but a careless block by one of the clones saw him fall to the ground and leave Taun We exposed to the inevitable Blitz that toppled him. Jedi Daeshara'cor then moved in to whisk the ball to safety – fortunately for Order66 he slipped however as he dashed for it. Taun We how had a fairly easy pickup and pass to a waiting Orun Wa to level the game… or so everyone thought before the ball slipped from his grasp despite two attempts at lifting it from the Astroturf!

Screams of “NOOOOOO” bellowed from the Orderr66 dug out.
Screams of “YAAAAAY” bellowed from the Dancer dug out.

The Dancers moved in, knocking Taun We down again and surrounding the ball before their Jedi Master retrieved it and took it to safety?

Order66 had one last chance. They called for the services of their Jedi retainer who hurled lightning at Jedi Daeshara'cor, toppling him. Taun We leapt to his feet and picked the ball up… the failed pass from before ringing in his mind he tried to shorten the distance… a bad decision that saw him trying to dodge through two Dancers that ultimately toppled him and ended a thrilling Final in a sham of an attempt at scoring!

===
This game spanned about 3 hours, but despite that was a very entertaining and thrilling game. Though zombificus had the better team, the handicaps and events with the GTR and KOs certainly evened out the playing field (at one point in the game he’d made 2 ko rolls in about 10 over two periods).

The recent loss of my Clone backbone of Blockle players made it tough given all the dodge. Zombificus played better than me on the night though (despite what he says :P ) and the combination of my cock up in thinking a clone had block and not RRing and nuffle giving me snakes at the worst time blew the draw!

In hindsight I should have bought another Gutter Runner rather than a Storm Vermin to give me more options. Really looking forward to the ROTJ tourney and hopefully getting revenge on the Dancers! :)

GG Zombi!
