“Caledors Crusaders 1 - 3 Waid Forest Wolverines
Despite the scoreline this was a tenacious performance from my High Elves in their first outing. With luck deserting us for the game we fought bravely and at one point midway in the 2nd half we looked to be on for a win but for the nasty trip from a woodland lineman. If we had hurdled his outstretched foot then we would have gone 2-1 up and in with a great shout of victory. At 1-1 despite not having the luck of the dice we finally got a breakthrough until the unfortunate incident. My opponent took advantage and in a terrific move was back up the field on the counter-attack and scored almost immediately. After this we were chasing the game and the 3rd touchdown was a result of throwing everyone at the ball in a last ditch attemp for a draw. However, it was not to and my opponent capitalised and came in the make the scoreline quite emphatic. We are 2 men short for the next outing with 3 casualties inflicted upon us but our heads are held high and looking to the next game. ”
