“Mash 'n' Slash 1 - 3 Oak Tree Rangers
This was going to be a very fast game with 2 teams very agile and comfortable on the ball. Oak Tree were the first to make the breakthrough when after a hand off to the thrower was recieved on the run he threw upfield to the waiting No5 who was within touching distance of the end zone. Mash 'n' Stash were alive to the challenge but suffered a setback as both attacker and no5 were knocked down allowing the other catcher to come in and score the touchdown. With the amazon women causing a serious injury to an elf and knocking out another things were starting to look grim and they were only prevented from equalising when the female player dropped the catch. After the Woodland men rallied and no5 catcher avoided a few blocks upfield before coming in for touchdown no2. A couple of turns later it would have been 3 but for the player falling over in the final yards which led to the play of the match. Mash 'n' Stash quickly recovered the ball and a lightning piece of play saw them first run the ball then throw an exquisite pass which was caught superbly by the female warrior to run in to make it 2-1.
Sadly the 2nd half didn't live up to the 1st as it became scrappy as players were tired. A 3rd touchdown was added to complete a hard fought victory. The scoreline says a different tale to the match which was close throughout and one day a rematch must be on the cards for these 2 lightning fast teams.”
